Friends of the Forest Sedona Activities
Local members have the opportunity to participate in a number of interesting and rewarding activities.

Trail Patrol
Trail patrol members hike the Forest Service system trails. The primary focus as Patrol members hike the trails is contact with the public, striving to help make their visit enjoyable. <<Learn More>>

Trail Maintenance and Construction
The trails crew is an active, outdoor group who perform both maintenance of existing trails and construction of new ones, as required by the priorities of the Forest Service. <<Learn More>>

Visitor Information Services
VIS volunteers are at the front desk of the Ranger Station and South Gateway to provide accurate and concise information about recreation on the Coconino National Forest around Sedona. <<Learn More>>

Cultural Resources and Protection
Cultural Resources members are docents who provide information to visitors about the ancient cultures that once lived at or visited the Palatki/Red Cliffs and V-Bar-V Heritage Sites. <<Learn More>>

Weed and Seed
The Weed and Seed members work under the direction of District staff to assist in the removal of invasive, noxious plants from surrounding forest lands and collect specific grass seeds in the Fall. <<Learn More>>

Water Sampling
Members have been sampling the water of Oak Creek since 1999. Collections are made year 'round at six specific sites that have been selected as frequently used by swimmers, picnickers and hikers. <<Learn More>>

Orchard
Orchard members are restoring several historic apple orchards. <<Learn More>>

River Ranger Support
The "River Rats" as they call themselves, support the Forest Service rangers who patrol the forest riverways. <<Learn More>>
