DESCRIPTION:First Friday presentation by Friends of the Forest volunteer and outdoor survival expert\, Al Cornell.  This event will start at 10:00 with an indoor presentation entitled “Anthropogenic Fire”.  The speaker will start with what is thought to be early homonids’ relationship with fire some two million years ago.  The talk then progresses forward to proto-historic Southwest cultures.  \nThe indoor presentation will be followed with an outdoor demonstration conducted on the Visitor Center’s patio.  This portion will cover the four prehistoric fire starting methods found in the New World when the first of the explorers arrived.  \nFor more information\, call 928-203-2903
