First Friday: “Fresh Eyes on an Ancient Landscape: Sedona Paleogeology”

October 4, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

First Friday presentation by FOF volunteer and naturalist, Barry Mallis.

Sedona’s legendary red rocks evolved over millions of years, as wind, water, and geologic uplift shaped and sculpted the land. Discover more of Sedona’s geologic story through this slide presentation that examines how the geology of the Sedona region fits into the history of Earth’s development.  Beyond the “macro” picture of our continent’s formation, you’ll learn about a roughly 300 million-year period through which the geology of Red Rock Country was slowly transformed into today’s vistas.
